the perfect white tee.

they seem cheesy as hell, but this is my perfect basic white tee:

*loopwheel knit (no sideseams, so each size has its own knitting machine).
*dry touch cotton, which becomes nicer after each wash.
*no tags, so there is nothing to cut out.

until i can beat this, bdd will keep supporting hanes.

and that's enough advertisement for another brand for now.

this weekend's treasures.

as i am quite the collector of various things, i went to a big fair for vintage and obscurities this weekend. i'd like to call it 'modern day treasure hunting', so here's the 'loot':

a trunk full.

obscure levi's belt. no clue how old it is or even authentic, but it looks cool.

pocket balancers, which i buy every time i come across some. i use the them mainly for display of items instead of regular hangers.

an old woolen plaid, presumably from the 60s. great condition and double woven fabric. can't find much about this particular brand unfortunately.

ray ban gatsby style 2, made in u.s.a. case is not the original unfortunately (but authentic), and neither i am a hundred percent sure the glasses are authentic. luckily didn't pay much, but still need to dive into it. at first glance it has all the features an authentic pre 1999 pair of ray ban glasses should have, dating it at early 90s i guess.

some common nes games which were somehow missing in my collection.

an envelope stand from the 60s.

bootleg ghostbusters figurines, from the cartoon show.

mic ghostbusters' peter venkman from the 2010 retro-action matty collectors series.

the suitcase itself. should be old, no clue how old though.

nicely worn sticker from 'hotel de l'hermitage monte carlo'.

brookie.

my friends at brookie are featured in ing bank's latest 'starter of the month'!

they produce comfortable, loose but figure hugging boxershorts for men, in 100% cotton high-quality oxford fabrics, all made in portugal. no peculiar patterns or other absurd additions, brooki perfectly fills in the gap between tight models such as bjorn borg's and calvin klein's, and the big and loose models you will find in your grandfather's closet.

clip in dutch.

new atelier/showroom.

i recently moved my workspace from my home - a small amsterdam apartment - to a spacious atelier in the north of the city. big step for bdd as i can now work in this very inspirational environment i created on the many things i wanted to do for while.

the atelier/showroom is open for visits, but by appointment only, so drop me line if you want to experience the benzak denim vibes.

see below the result; enjoy and envy my little denim paradise: the world of benzak!
