hutspot is concept store and gives young entrepreneurs and designers the chance to display and sell their products. the word hutspot means mishmash in dutch (and is also one the few dishes from the dutch cuisine), as the store carries a large variety of products: from clothing to art and furniture, and everything you see in the store can be bought. except for the dog.

bdd and brookie are close friends, and share the passion for pure and functional products. this brought us the idea to work on a collaboration, combining the world of benzak with brookie's.
this sunday on the modefabriek, bdd and brookie will be releasing their very first spijkerbrookie -- a loose but figure hugging boxershort made out of a lightweight (8 oz.) denim, including riveted slits. as all brookies, it will come in 4 sizes: s, m, l and xl.
priced at euro 35, this limited edition item will be available on the modefabriek, this weekend only. if we have stock left afterwards, it will be available through both the brookie and bdd websites.

the perfect white tee.
they seem cheesy as hell, but this is my perfect basic white tee:
*loopwheel knit (no sideseams, so each size has its own knitting machine).
*dry touch cotton, which becomes nicer after each wash.
*no tags, so there is nothing to cut out.
until i can beat this, bdd will keep supporting hanes.

this weekend's treasures.
as i am quite the collector of various things, i went to a big fair for vintage and obscurities this weekend. i'd like to call it 'modern day treasure hunting', so here's the 'loot':
a trunk full.
obscure levi's belt. no clue how old it is or even authentic, but it looks cool.
pocket balancers, which i buy every time i come across some. i use the them mainly for display of items instead of regular hangers.
an old woolen plaid, presumably from the 60s. great condition and double woven fabric. can't find much about this particular brand unfortunately.
ray ban gatsby style 2, made in u.s.a. case is not the original unfortunately (but authentic), and neither i am a hundred percent sure the glasses are authentic. luckily didn't pay much, but still need to dive into it. at first glance it has all the features an authentic pre 1999 pair of ray ban glasses should have, dating it at early 90s i guess.

i recently moved my workspace from my home - a small amsterdam apartment - to a spacious atelier in the north of the city. big step for bdd as i can now work in this very inspirational environment i created on the many things i wanted to do for while.
the atelier/showroom is open for visits, but by appointment only, so drop me line if you want to experience the benzak denim vibes.
